The Waitlist is now open

If a team needs a player, we will pull kids from the WAIT LIST in the order they registered. We will be pulling players from the Wait List up until April 1st. If we cannot place your child on a team, we will start the refund process after April 2nd. 

Remember if you can coach, that will get your child placed faster as we are always looking for coaches.

 Please email in players birth certificate to speed up the process of placing your player on a team 

If your child is a returning player that has registered late and is now on the Wait List, there is no guarantee that they will get back on their same team from the Fall. Players that are pulled from the Wait List are placed where they are needed.

Refunds will be given from the waitlist and IF your child does not get placed on a team. We will deduct a $15 processing and admin fee from all waitlist refunds.

NO REFUNDS OR SPECIAL REQUESTS 

GAME SCHEDULES:
Will be released approximately the Wednesday prior to opening day.  Most games will be on Saturday. For U11 and up teams, games could be scheduled during the week and in Midland.

AFTER REGISTERING:
The next contact you will receive from OSA will be from the coach of your child's team. This is of course if you have turned in their birth certificate if needed. Your child's coach will receive the roster at the coaches meeting which is held approximately 3 weeks prior to opening day.  Coaches are asked to contact players shortly thereafter. The coach of your child's team will notify you of days, times, and locations he/she has chosen for practice.  Be prepared with your child's equipment and be ready for practice when the coach calls! .

If, your child's team does not have a coach, we will email all parents early February asking for a volunteer to coach your child's team.

TEAM FORMATION AND PLACEMENT

·         All teams will be formed by birth year.

·         Teams are not co-ed. 

·         Placement based on current school location.  We try our best to place players on teams affiliated with schools near the player, but not all players can be placed close to home.  They can only be placed on teams where there are VOLUNTEER coaches in their age group. Want to guarantee practices close to home on a specific night?  Then volunteer as HEAD COACH!  OSA needs coaches for most age groups.  

·         NO Team Requests will be honored, unless this is players  first time ever playing with OSA

·         Practice day, time and location is determined by the Volunteer Coach.  This information will not be available until your player has actually been placed on a team. Coaches will contact the parents after the coaches meeting in February. Practice can be once or twice a week as determined by the coach and age of the players. 

•          Parents are always encouraged to include a note in their player's registration if there is an issue with current team.  Registration requests will NOT be honored even if the coach has indicated there is an open spot on the team.
•          All age group players may buddy request one time, if they are new to OSA. This means they have NEVER played with OSA before.

Registrations after Jan 5th will automatically be placed on the waitlist. This means, there is no guarantee of placement but if a team needs a player, we will pull kids from the waitlist in the order that they registered.

U9 and above teams that place first in their division this fall will have the opportunity to play in Tournament of Champions hosted by North Texas Soccer. For more information click banner below.

We need Volunteers!!

Each season we get more and more kids registered, which means we need more volunteers to coach

Odessa Soccer Association is a volunteer organization that facilitates the sport of soccer for the enjoyment of the participants.  Board members, league directors, coaches, assistant coaches, and team parents are all volunteers who give their time and efforts on behalf of the players. 

Without parent volunteers, the number of children able to participate would be decreased. Volunteer your time to your child, coach, team and league.

Odessa Soccer does not guarantee a coach for your childs team at the time of registration. We will do our best to find a coach. If we are unable to find a volunteer and you are not able to coach, we will then refund your registration fee minus $15 for processing and admin fees.

Spring 2026 Season Dates:

March 21st to May 16th, 2026

PLAYERS EQUIPMENT:

1.  Jewelry is NOT allowed. For the safety of all players, all items of jewelry (necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings) are not allowed and must be removed.  Using tape to cover jewelry is not allowed. 

2. Ball - Every player should have their own ball.

·         U5 thru U8 groups - Size 3

·         U9 thru U12 groups - Size 4

·         U13 and over groups - Size 5

3.  Shin guards:   Mandatory and required for all practices and games.

4.  Shoes:  Gym shoes, tennis shoes, or soccer cleats must be worn by all players. All footwear must be of soft toe and have no metal studs (screw-ins) or any other exposed metal.  Any cleats with a TOE cleat are not allowed such as baseball, softball or football cleats.

5.  Water Bottle:  Players should have a water bottle at all practices and games.

6.  Uniforms: For all REC teams, uniforms are chosen by the Coach and will be an ADDED expense for the parents.

Starting Fall 2026 North Texas will start placing players by school year again.
